I saw Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks back sometime around 2004 when they opened for Radiohead, but I’d still like to see Pavement live.

I’ve never really been able to get too into Malkmus, despite being totally okay with the idea of frontmen who are bastards. I still love this song though:

I’ll never forgive myself for not seeing Pavement in 2010, even though it was impossible at that time in my life.

We’ve all got bands that we missed out on seeing live even though we were into them while they were touring. One of my favorite bands, The Thermals, just announced am amicable split. No goodbye tour. They’ve barely played since their 2016 final album, aptly named We Disappear. They said that they had no interest in cashing in on nostalgia, and they never expected to be around as long as they were. I’ve been a fan for years, but they’ll go down as my favorite band that I never got to see.
